ANOTHER GIRL HARASSED AT BANKA TOURIST SITE; FIR FILED AGAINST SIX
September 25, 2026
PATNA: A video allegedly showing a minor girl being harassed by a group of youths at Bihar’s Mandar Parvat tourist site in Banka has surfaced online, prompting police to register a suo motu case against six unidentified persons. The incident comes days after similar cases were reported in Jamui and Samastipur.
The video, purportedly recorded at the tourist site under Bounsi police station, shows several youths surrounding the girl. One appears to twist her arm while another allegedly attempts to strike her with a slipper. A third person is seen carrying a stick. The footage was circulated widely on social media after being edited with a song.
Police, however, said the footage may not be recent. Although the video carries a September 3 date, preliminary findings suggest it could be around six months old. Bounsi police said their social media cell received the video through WhatsApp on September 22, following which a team visited Mandar Parvat and verified the location.
An FIR has been registered under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Information Technology Act. Police are working to identify the youths seen in the footage and determine when and how the incident occurred. Further action will depend on the findings of the investigation.
The Banka case follows a separate Samastipur incident in which four men were arrested after a video allegedly showed a girl being harassed in public. Police had also taken action in the earlier Jamui case involving a Class X girl.
