A 22-year-old man has been arrested in Bihar’s East Champaran district after police allegedly traced his social-media communications to a person suspected of links with a Pakistan-based criminal and terror network. The arrest was made in the Dhaka police station area near Bisarhiya village on Saturday night.

Police identified the accused as Seraaz Alam and said his mobile phone contained videos, photographs and other social-media material that investigators believe was connected to terrorist activities. During questioning, police said Alam admitted to communicating online with Ali Gujjar, who is allegedly associated with the network of Pakistan-based gangster Shehzad Bhatti.

Investigators are examining Alam’s travel history, social-media activity and call records, along with possible funding channels and international contacts. Authorities are also attempting to determine whether he had associates and to establish the extent of any wider network.

The investigation remains underway, and the allegations against the arrested man have yet to be established through the judicial process
