BJP TARGETS OPPOSITION OVER ALLEGED MOVES TO DERAIL INDIA’S DEVELOPMENT

September 29, 2026

Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Union Minister J.P. Nadda on September 28 accused Opposition leaders of attempting to undermine India’s progress and discredit constitutional institutions, escalating the political confrontation between the ruling party and its opponents.

Addressing a press briefing in New Delhi, Nadda alleged that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee were pursuing what he described as a “toolkit mentality” to create confusion and disrupt the country’s development agenda.

Nadda also accused the Opposition of spreading misinformation and making allegations against the Election Commission of India (ECI), claiming that the Commission had rejected their concerns. He alleged that the Opposition’s actions were driven by political interests rather than public welfare. These statements represented the BJP’s position amid the ongoing political dispute over the functioning of constitutional institutions.

The BJP leader said his party remained committed to national development and the welfare of disadvantaged communities, while asserting that the Opposition was attempting to obstruct the government’s vision of a Viksit Bharat.

The Opposition’s criticisms of the Election Commission and other institutions remain part of a wider political debate over institutional accountability, electoral processes and the role of constitutional bodies in India’s democracy.
