CJP FOUNDER URGES OPPOSITION PARTIES TO BOYCOTT ELECTIONS OVER RIGGING CLAIMS

September 25, 2026

NEW DELHI: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke has urged political parties that allege electoral manipulation to stop participating in elections, arguing that their continued participation gives legitimacy to polls they consider unfair. Dipke made the appeal in a post on X on Friday.

Dipke questioned why Opposition parties continued to contest elections while simultaneously raising allegations of vote manipulation. He argued that political parties should take a consistent position on electoral concerns regardless of the state or party affected and called on them to place democratic considerations ahead of political survival.

Using the analogy of a fixed cricket match, Dipke alleged that an election could be made to appear competitive even if its outcome had been manipulated. He claimed that parties could be allowed some victories to encourage their continued participation and create an appearance of a genuine contest. These are Dipke’s allegations and have not been established as findings of a court or election authority.

His remarks came a day after he demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and threatened a nationwide agitation if the demand was not met. The latest comments also followed reports that Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi had raised objections on at least 14 occasions over decisions concerning voter additions, deletions, restorations and registration procedures.

The Election Commission has maintained that such internal exchanges form part of institutional deliberations and that decisions, including those concerning the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, were taken unanimously with the approval of the three-member commission
