November 4, 2026

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has provisionally attached assets worth approximately ₹510 crore belonging to entities associated with industrialist Anil Ambani's Reliance Group as part of its ongoing investigation into alleged bank fraud and money laundering. The latest action includes two chartered aircraft, six land parcels, an office property, windmills, bank balances, fixed deposits and financial investments.

The attachment orders have been issued under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in connection with two separate investigations involving Reliance Communications Limited (RCOM), and Reliance Home Finance Limited (RHFL) and Reliance Commercial Finance Limited (RCFL). The alleged fraud under investigation amounts to ₹247.12 crore in the RCOM case and ₹263.05 crore in the RHFL and RCFL cases.

In the Reliance Communications investigation, the attached properties include two chartered aircraft, a Dassault Falcon 2000 and an Embraer, along with six land parcels and an office premises in Maharashtra. In the separate investigation involving Reliance Home Finance and Reliance Commercial Finance, the agency has attached two windmills located in Tamil Nadu, together with bank balances, fixed deposits, investments and receivables.

With this latest action, the cumulative value of assets attached or seized in various investigations involving the Reliance Anil Ambani Group has reached approximately ₹23,100 crore. The investigations are being conducted under the provisions of the PMLA and the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).

According to the Enforcement Directorate, its investigations have uncovered allegations of public funds being diverted from banks and financial institutions, misuse of provisions under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) to protect corporate assets for personal benefit, and the transfer of funds from India to offshore tax havens. The agency has further alleged that a substantial portion of the diverted money was utilised for the personal benefit of promoters and their family members.

The ED has arrested 10 individuals in connection with these cases and filed six prosecution complaints under the PMLA. It has also initiated separate proceedings under FEMA. The investigations were initiated on the basis of multiple FIRs registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation and the Economic Offences Wings of Mumbai and Delhi.

The companies under investigation include Reliance Communications, Reliance Home Finance, Reliance Commercial Finance, Reliance Infrastructure, Reliance Power and Reliance Capital.

The latest asset attachment represents another significant development in the financial investigations surrounding the Reliance Anil Ambani Group. However, the allegations remain subject to legal proceedings, and the provisional attachment of properties does not by itself establish criminal guilt.
