FOOD SAFETY TEST RAISES RED FLAGS OVER NESTLE LOW-FAT DAIRY WHITENER
October 3, 2026
NEW DELHI — A sample of Nestlé India’s low-fat dairy whitener has been found to be unsafe and substandard following testing by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).
The sample was collected from a five-star hotel in Delhi and was subsequently examined as part of food-safety checks. The findings have raised concerns over whether the product met the prescribed safety and quality standards.
The FSSAI is responsible for establishing and enforcing food-safety standards in India, including requirements relating to the quality, composition and safety of packaged food products.
The finding involving the dairy whitener has brought renewed attention to food-quality monitoring in hotels and other commercial establishments, as well as the regulatory checks applied to branded food products.
The development comes as food-safety authorities continue to conduct sampling and laboratory testing to identify products that may fail to comply with established standards.
