PATNA: Four men were arrested in Samastipur after a video showing a girl allegedly being harassed and molested in public surfaced on social media, police said.

The incident reportedly took place on Wednesday on Dam Bypass Road in Jagatsinghpur village under Karpurigram police station. According to police, the girl had stopped with a male companion to take photographs when a group of local youths allegedly approached them and began abusing and harassing her. The incident was recorded on a mobile phone.

The video shows the girl being surrounded by several men, with one allegedly holding her arm as she attempts to leave. Police identified the four men seen in the footage and arrested them from their homes.

The Samastipur case comes days after a separate incident in Jamui in which a Class X student was allegedly harassed by a group of youths. Police have also initiated an investigation into that case, with some accused already detained.
