RAHUL GANDHI SAYS ‘CONSTITUTION’S ENEMIES’ EXPOSED AMID EC CONTROVERSY

NEW DELHI: Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Thursday claimed that the “enemies of the Constitution” had been exposed amid a political controversy over reported differences within the Election Commission concerning the revision of electoral rolls.

In a post on X, Gandhi stated that justice would be served and announced that he would address a press conference at 4 p.m. He made the remarks as opposition parties intensified their criticism of the Election Commission over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process and reported objections raised by Election Commissioners.

The controversy centres on reported differences within the poll panel over electoral-roll procedures and administrative decisions. Opposition parties have demanded greater transparency and accountability, while the Election Commission has maintained that its final decisions, including those related to SIR, were taken unanimously.

Gandhi’s remarks and the Congress’s allegations form part of the ongoing political dispute over the functioning of the Election Commission and the integrity of electoral processes. The allegations remain contested and have not been established as findings of a judicial inquiry
