MUMBAI — Mumbai Police have registered a case against organisers of a protest held at Shivaji Park, along with around 400 to 500 unidentified people who allegedly participated in the demonstration.

The case was filed in connection with a protest organised by the Campaign for Judicial Protection, with police citing alleged violations during the gathering. The action names organisers while also including unidentified participants as investigations continue.

The protest at the prominent central Mumbai ground drew attention amid demands raised by the organisers on issues concerning the judiciary and constitutional institutions.

Police are examining available information regarding the participants and circumstances surrounding the demonstration. Further action is expected to depend on the findings of the investigation.

The registration of the case adds another layer to the ongoing dispute surrounding protests and public demonstrations in Mumbai, where authorities have continued to regulate large gatherings at major public spaces.
