WOMAN ALLEGES ASSAULT AND STRANGULATION ATTEMPT BY HUSBAND, TWO OTHERS INSIDE UP FAMILY COURT

LUCKNOW: A woman attending a maintenance-case hearing at a family court in Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh, has alleged that her husband and two others assaulted and attempted to strangle her inside the court premises. The incident reportedly took place on September 24 while her father was scheduled to give evidence in the case.

The woman, identified as Priya Tripathi, has submitted a complaint to Kotwali police against her husband Manish Kumar Mishra and two alleged accomplices, Prince Mishra and Satish Mishra. According to her complaint, the three approached her, her father and sister on the ground floor of the court building, knocked her down and allegedly attempted to strangle her.

Priya further alleged that her father Laxmikant and sister Priyanka were also assaulted when they intervened. Police personnel present on the court premises reportedly reached the spot after hearing the commotion and intervened. She also alleged that the accused threatened to kill her if she continued pursuing the case.

Priya has provided police with a video clip purportedly showing the incident and has sought registration of an FIR and legal action against the three men. Police action on the complaint was awaited at the time of the report.
