KOLKATA: The Adani Group plans to invest around ₹1 lakh crore, or $10.4 billion, in West Bengal by 2035, expanding its operations across ports, roads, power generation, logistics and hyperscale data centres.
Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani announced the investment plan on Thursday while laying the foundation stone for the group's proposed 2,000-bed multi-speciality Adani Arogya Mandir in New Town near Kolkata. The hospital represents an investment of around ₹4,000 crore and is expected to create about 10,000 jobs.
The proposed expansion is expected to cover several infrastructure and technology sectors, including logistics, energy and large-scale data-centre facilities. The announcement marks a significant expansion of the group's planned presence in Bengal through the next decade.
The investment announcement comes amid renewed efforts by the West Bengal government to attract large industrial and infrastructure projects to the state. Adani is also scheduled to hold discussions with state authorities and industry representatives during his visit to Kolkata.
