BJP national president Nitin Nabin has called on the West Bengal government to place greater emphasis on youth policy, sports and opportunities for young people, during his visit to Kolkata.

Addressing a Yuva Samvad Conclave, Nabin highlighted West Bengal’s longstanding contribution to sports, art, literature and culture and urged the State government to create wider platforms through which young people can develop their abilities.

Nabin’s remarks came during his two-day visit to Bengal, which also included organisational meetings with BJP office-bearers, elected representatives and district-level functionaries. During the meetings, he emphasised coordination between the party organisation, elected representatives and the State government.

The BJP leadership has also been placing increased emphasis on youth outreach in Bengal, with the party planning engagement with young people at district, block and panchayat levels. The focus includes understanding youth concerns and highlighting government initiatives aimed at younger citizens.

Nabin additionally spoke about entrepreneurship and the potential of young people to become job creators, linking youth development with sports, innovation and broader economic opportunities.

The remarks form part of the BJP’s wider organisational and youth-outreach activities in West Bengal following its recent electoral victory and ahead of upcoming political contests in the State.
