COCKPIT VIOLENCE SENDS FLYDUBAI JET INTO SHARP DIVE BEFORE EMERGENCY LANDING

A Flydubai flight travelling from Dubai to Tel Aviv was forced to make an emergency landing in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, after a violent incident involving the pilots sent the aircraft into a sudden descent.

Flight FZ1073 was carrying more than 150 passengers when emergency signals were transmitted during the journey. Flight-tracking data indicated that the Boeing 737 experienced a rapid loss of altitude before stabilising and continuing towards an emergency landing.

Passengers described hearing screams before the cockpit was opened and seeing blood inside the flight deck. Several passengers reportedly helped crew members restrain the person involved in the confrontation, while the exact circumstances of the incident remained under investigation.

Both pilots were injured and taken to hospital after the aircraft landed safely at Tabuk Airport. The airline confirmed that all passengers were safe and accounted for.

Israeli authorities initially feared that the aircraft could have been hijacked after an emergency code associated with unlawful interference was transmitted. Fighter aircraft were reportedly scrambled, although the incident was later not treated as a conventional hijacking.

Reports that one pilot deliberately attempted to crash the aircraft, as well as claims concerning the motives or identity of those involved, remained unconfirmed. Authorities and Flydubai were continuing to investigate the incident.

A replacement aircraft was being arranged to transport the stranded passengers from Saudi Arabia to Israel, while officials worked to establish the full sequence of events inside the cockpit
