IRAN WARNS FOREIGN FORCES OF POSSIBLE EXPULSION FROM ARABIAN SEA
September 28, 2026
Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has warned that foreign forces could soon be driven out of the Arabian Sea, amid continuing military tensions surrounding the Strait of Hormuz and the wider region.
In a message marking Iran’s Sacred Defense Week, Khamenei said Iranian forces had inflicted what he described as “painful blows” on opposing forces and had pushed them away from waters near southern Iran toward the Arabian Sea. He warned that the foreign forces could eventually be forced out of the Arabian Sea as well.
The statement comes amid heightened tensions over maritime security and shipping routes in and around the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian military officials have separately claimed control over the Strait and parts of the surrounding waters, while commercial shipping through the strategic waterway has been sharply affected by the ongoing conflict.
Iranian officials have also previously warned that continued attacks could expand the conflict toward the Indian Ocean, indicating the broader geographical risks surrounding the confrontation.
