IRAN WARNS OF GREATER DAMAGE IF US ATTACKS RESUME

September 27, 2026

Iran has warned the United States that any renewed military attack would result in greater damage, as tensions remain high over the conflict and the status of the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian Army spokesperson Mohammad Akraminia said the country’s armed forces were fully prepared for a possible renewed US attack. His comments came after US President Donald Trump rejected an Iranian proposal concerning the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and an end to the fighting.

Iranian Army Commander-in-Chief Amir Hatami separately described the conflict as being at a critical stage. He said Tehran would not accept a situation in which Iran was prevented from trading while foreign powers continued to use strategic waterways in the region.

Hatami also stressed the importance Iran attaches to the Strait of Hormuz, saying that restrictions on Iran’s ability to trade would have wider consequences. The waterway is a major international shipping route, making developments surrounding its operation significant for regional security and global commerce.

The latest warnings come amid continuing diplomatic and military tensions between Washington and Tehran, with the possibility of renewed hostilities remaining a major concern in the region.
