UNITED NATIONS: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian criticised US President Donald Trump during his address to the United Nations General Assembly, rejecting Washington’s accusations against Tehran and describing the Iranian people as victims of terrorism.

Pezeshkian’s remarks came a day after Trump warned Iran of possible “annihilation” if it failed to reach an agreement concerning its nuclear programme. The Iranian president accused the United States and Israel of aggression and defended Iran’s position amid escalating tensions between the two countries.

Pezeshkian also displayed photographs of Iran’s late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and children reportedly killed during the conflict. He insisted that Iran would not surrender to external pressure, declaring that the country would not “bow down” to the United States.

The confrontation at the UN General Assembly reflected the continuing diplomatic and military tensions between Washington and Tehran, with both governments presenting sharply different accounts of the conflict and its consequences.
