UNITED NATIONS: External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar sharply responded to a Pakistani journalist who questioned India over terrorism during a media interaction at the United Nations headquarters in New York on Friday.

The journalist reportedly accused India of sponsoring or fuelling terrorism in Pakistan and asked a question concerning New Delhi’s alleged role in the issue. Jaishankar responded, “A terrorist country is asking me that question. Come on!” according to reports of the exchange.

The interaction took place during a press briefing involving Jaishankar and Liberia’s Foreign Minister Sara Beysolow Nyanti on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly. The Pakistani reporter reportedly intervened towards the end of the briefing.

The exchange comes amid continued diplomatic tensions between India and Pakistan, with both countries frequently trading accusations over cross-border terrorism and regional security. Jaishankar has repeatedly accused Pakistan of supporting militant groups, while Islamabad has rejected India’s allegations and made counterclaims against New Delhi.
