NORWAY ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL $13 MILLION AID FOR PALESTINIANS
September 24, 2026
OSLO: Norway has announced an additional 125 million Norwegian crowns, or about $13.17 million, in aid for the occupied Palestinian territories.
The funding will be channelled through the United Nations and the World Bank and will include support for the Palestinian public sector. Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide said the need for international assistance was “greater than ever”.
Norway, which recognised a Palestinian state in 2024, currently chairs the international donor group for the Palestinians. The country said it is providing around 1 billion Norwegian crowns in assistance to the Palestinians during 2026.
Eide also criticised Israeli settlement activity in the occupied West Bank while announcing the additional assistance.
